An online local services marketplace has relaunched its ‘Professional Honey Trapping’ service in time for the Christmas party season, after 134 Honey Trappers were hired last December.
Following research suggesting that a third of people will cheat on their partners this Christmas, with the majority of affairs starting at the work Christmas party, Bark.com has relaunched its ‘Professional Honey Trapping Service’, to catch out unfaithful partners this holiday season.
Professional Honey Trappers can be hired by partners to entice their other halves into engaging in physical or emotional cheating throughout the festive period. Last Christmas, 134 Honey Trappers were hired, and of those cases a third (31%) resulted in a cheating partner being caught.

Research from Bark.com’s onsite relationship counsellors reveals that on average requests for cheating-related counselling increases by 50% in the three months following Christmas. It also revealed that the main reason for partners’ suspicions were texts from unknown numbers, and their partners arriving home at strange times from ‘work’.
Bark.com estimates that the cost of the service will sit at around £60 an hour based on similar services, however as with all Bark.com services prices are set by individual providers.
People who sign up as a Professional Honey Trapper must be comfortable with employing seduction techniques to lure partners into engaging in activity that partners have deemed cheating.
To be a Professional Honey Trapper you must be over the age of 18. It’s recommended Pros meet with prospective clients beforehand to agree terms, payment and boundaries for cheating in advance.

Kai Feller, Bark.com co-founder, said,
“When we talked to our relationship counselors last year we found that counselling for cheating is common after the Christmas period, and it sparked the idea for this service. We didn’t know how it would be received, but obviously there are a lot of people out there who question their partner’s fidelity.
“Everyone has a very personal idea of what constitutes cheating, so we wanted to launch a service that could help people catch partners out at every stage - from flirty messages to full-blown infidelity. Christmas can be a stressful time for couples, so we’re hoping this service can help put people’s minds at rest, or help them make a clean break for 2020!”
