LONDON, UK (20 MAY 2021) -- Recent research* conducted by premium boot brand Le Chameau has found over three quarters (76%) of dog owners admit to spoiling their beloved pooch with 65% unable to resist giving into their dog because of their puppy dog eyes.
With an estimated 10 million dogs in the UK, dog owners spend as much as £7.5 billion per year on toys and treats. Blankets, beds, grooming products and outdoor accessories such as harnesses and coats are also some of the top products UK dog owners possess to ensure maximum comfort and safety for their beloved pets.
To celebrate the UK being an undeniable nation of dog lovers, wellington boot brand Le Chameau, worn by the likes of HRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Beckhams, has unveiled its new premium collection of fine leather collars and leads, comfortable dog beds and accessories for canine companions.
Le Chameau unveiled the range after research by the brand revealed that:
- Dog owners can’t help but get out their smartphones to take pics of the furry friends - with 55% taking more photos of their dog than anything else.
- The nation has no boundaries when it comes to sleeping arrangements as 52% of owners let them sleep either on their bed or under the duvet, with over half of those surveyed saying their dog(s) have two or more beds to sleep on (52%).
- 69% of dogs get Christmas gifts whilst 18% receive ‘Gotcha Day’ gifts to celebrate the anniversary of them coming home and 51% receive birthday gifts.
The new collection from Le Chameau includes a £120 dog bed with a soft tweed inner and a double-sided cushion designed as a "perfect second bed for your pup". In addition, when out in the park, dogs can be the smartest in the pack with their £30 leather collar and matching £35 leather lead – and they can keep refreshed via a stylish and practical collapsible £15 water bowl.
Going one step further, as part of the launch of the new collection, Le Chameau will be helping to raise charitable funds in partnership with UK’s largest dog welfare charity Dogs Trust. Hosting a virtual dog walk from 11th to 13th June, Le Chameau will be donating £5/€5 from every sale on lechameau.com across the big dog walking weekend to give to the charity.
