SPECIALIST ADDS SPECTACULAR NEW TOURS AS ICELAND TIPPED FOR 'GREEN LIST’

As Iceland remains hotly anticipated as one of a handful of destinations to make the UK’s ‘green list’ for Summer getaways, Regent Holidays has made several new additions to its 2021 programme. Says Regent brandmanager, Andrea Godfrey “We’ve already seen a hike in bookings since Iceland was tipped as one of the ‘green list’ countries. Clients are being attracted, not just by the likelihood of no quarantine, but also by the space and opportunities for staying remote in beautiful landscapes, pretty much everywhere across the country”

New tours and activities for 2021 include :

  • Guided tour of Geldingadalur Volcano, which erupted last month (March) and continues to emit fresh lava.  The first eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula in about 800 years provides an unique opportunity to study the geologic mysteries of the region and is open for all to enjoy. This once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the raw power of a volcanic eruption – in total safety – is accompanied by a private guide and includes a two hour hike along marked trails to reach the volcano.  The price for this full day excursion is £65 per person, including transfers, which can be booked in conjunction with any Regent Holidays holiday to Iceland.

  • In much quieter news, Regent Holidays are now able to offer the only electrically powered boat in Iceland for a silent whale watching tour that not only minimises disruption to wildlife but provides a serene environment from which to observe these amazing creatures.  The tour can be included as part of a seven day Iceland Arctic Coastway fly-drive, starting from £1395 per person including flights, six nights accommodation on bed and breakfast basis, car hire and carbon-free whale watching by electric boat.
  • And for lovers of wellness and relaxation, a new four night break for later in the year will bring together Northern Lights spotting with no less than three geothermal spas, including the newly opened Sky Lagoon, which is scheduled to open this Spring, adding to Iceland’s high end luxury offerings combining an Atlantic ocean setting with thermally heated waters and a choice of superb spa treatments.  Also included are visits to the Secret Lagoon and Fontana Spa.  The price of this five day Geothermal Spa winter break  starts from £745 per person, based on two sharing, including return international flights from UK to Iceland, accommodation at the Hotel Cabin on bed and breakfast basis, excursions including an evening visit to the Secret Lagoon with the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights, Golden Circle and Fontana Geothermal Baths, plus entrance to the new Sky Lagoon.
