Pater Noster named as the world's best hotel concept

Pater Noster outside Marstrand is named the world's best hotel concept. In competition with luxury hotels from around the world, the 154-year-old windswept lighthouse keeper’s residence wins gold in the prestigious AHEAD Global Awards. AHEAD Awards, the Awards for Hospitality, Experience and Design, is the most important competition in the international hotel and hospitality industry, rewarding the most innovative projects on each continent and globally. In November 2021, Pater Noster - a home on the horizon - won AHEAD's award for Europe's best hotel concept and thus qualified for the global award. And now the 80-strong global jury has named the isolated small lighthouse and design agency Stylt the winner of the AHEAD Global New Concept Award - the world's best overall concept that combines architecture, design, and experience."A small lighthouse on the Swedish west coast that has been named the world's best hotel concept, in competition with global billion-dollar investments - that says a lot about new ideas of what luxury really is." says Stylt's founder and Creative Director, Erik Nissen Johansen. “Here you adapt to the island's conditions, catch your own dinner and learn about the lighthouse’s dramatic history. This is a place that moves the senses and delivers a great experience.”Right from the start in the summer of 2020, the new venture out on Pater Noster has attracted enormous international attention. And instead of profiling itself as an exclusive boutique hotel, it is always the story of the lighthouse keeper’s old home that is central."With Pater Noster's help, people all over the world have opened their eyes to the unique Swedish West Coast," says Fredrik Lindén, CEO of the West Sweden Tourist Board. "Now we have a region, and a destination that is indisputably world class and which offers the essence of Bohuslän."
