Ciara is never one to play it safe when it comes to her hair. From over-the-top afros and wet waves to short bobs and copper color, just to name a few, the OAMskin founder doesn’t shy away from trying out a new look. Her latest hair transformation comes in the form of a shaggy Wolf Cut, which she debuted at the Tom Ford NYFW show.

To achieve the ultra-layered look, celebrity hairstylist Cesar DeLeon Ramirez, who has worked alongside the Goodies singer for 15 years, used his tried-and-true styling essentials from UNITE Hair (@unite_hair). Keep reading for the step-by-step breakdown on how Cesar mastered the 70’s-inspired texture, movement and volume to Ciara’s newest look, and how he prepped her mane underneath her wig.

“As soon as I saw this 70’s inspired Tom Ford leisure suit, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to try the notoriously trending Wolf Cut, which is obviously a marriage between the Shag and the Mullet. I think this glam gave what it needed to give,” says Cesar.

The Breakdown:

  1. “To start, I applied a full dropper of UNITE’s vegan, cruelty- and paraben-free BOOSTA PLUS+ Hair Serum on Ciara’s scalp between each braid to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss underneath her wig.
  2. Next, I spray BOOSTA Volumizing Spray at the roots for volume, body and definition with a flexible hold followed by the Argan oil-infused ELEVATE Mousse on the ends. The, I blow dried with a ceramic small round brush to lift hair into a full-bodied, frizz-free style that's soft, shiny and moveable
  3. To finish, I sprayed TEXTURIZA Spray throughout to add weightless volume, texture and fullness.”
