PR of the day 19.12.18

Greece was hot this year. Really hot. And the signs point to next year being even hotter. So, here are some of the coolest places to chill out for 2019, and our tips on how to enjoy them to their fullest. Our best advice? Book now!

SYROS

pr 19.12.18 1

The elegant capital of the Cyclades, Syros has it all: rich history, impressive architecture, and seriously good food. Guests fall for the neo-classical town, the traditional hill-top villages, warm, hospitable locals, and some great design. Dine at Mazi or Iliovasilema, and ask us for a guided walk around the neoclassical town, the nineteenth-century theatre, and the medieval Chora.

House & Garden magazine went mad over our new Syros GM, with its beautiful location and perfection of design

MYKONOS

PR 19.12.18 2

The beaches, restaurants, bars, clubs and yachts; the pop-up Louboutin shop at Nammos Village, Prinkipoté, Scorpios, and the fly deck of a captained yacht will be the places to be seen this summer.

And, when you prefer to see but not be seen, ask us about our super private villas and all the accessories that they come with them.

ON THE MANI

PR 19.12.18 3

For those wanting to discover undiscovered Greece, one of our top tips for 2019 is the Mani, the southernmost tip of the Peloponnese. We have an amazing new property that comes with a historian to escort interested guests around the classical and Byzantine treasures of this beautiful and unspoiled area; Mistra, Monemvasia, Methoni.

PAXOS

19.12.18 4

Supply is finally beginning to catch up with demand on Paxos, with some rather magnificent new houses popping up. Enjoy lazy days on a boat exploring the blue grottoes and white pebble beaches, and relax into the evenings in one of the island's laid-back waterfront restaurants.

We have a handful of mega-villas for larger groups, as well as some classics on the water.

KEA

19.12.18 5

Kea, or Tzia as it is also known (so good they named it twice), is the location of the new One & Only opening summer 2019; they loved its wild and authentic scenery, windmills, pretty villages, lack of mass tourism, great food and easy access to Athens.

To complement our existing villas, we have taken on a fabulously beautiful new house here. It just oozes glamour, with a beach-style pool and views over the far-flung islands of the Cyclades.

ITHACA Idylls

19.12.18 6

There are a couple of villas that are really Five Star here. Offering peerless glamour, privacy, luxury and water sports, they also have their own docks, jet skis, boats and full staff. For stand-up paddleboard enthusiasts, this is heaven: float on turquoise water around the bronze, pewter and chalk cliffs of this magical island, while fish slip underneath your board and the sun shines on your back. All you need is calm weather (which Ithaca has in spades), a straw hat, and a waterfront villa… And getting to Ithaca is no longer an Odyssey, thanks to British Airways flights direct to next door Kefalonia.

CORFU

19.12.18 7For quiet elegance and grown-up glamour, Corfu still leads the way, with spectacular fully-staffed houses. Corfu FMA was new to the market this summer and is most definitely the alpha male in the pack.

KOS

19.12.18.8

With easy international access, Kos offers guests a rich diversity of ancient and Byzantine history, a flavour of the Ottoman Empire, a touch of Italian culture, and a short hop away are the magnificent ruins of Ephesus. Minarets, beach clubs, and Hellenistic monuments; enjoy them all from the peace and elegance of our sleek, modern beach villa.

DIAPOROS ISLAND

pr of the day 19.12.18 9The soft launch of this new estate was a great success this summer. A hop away from Thessaloniki, this semi-private island offers guests the classic Greek tycoon lifestyle: sandy feet, chilled cocktails, and watersports in abundance.

And finally, when it comes to setting sail, crewed tenders usually service mega-yachts. But we are launching a beautifully-run tender for villas in the Spetses, Porto Heli, Peloponnese area. Hire the boat for a few days or a week to explore the area, and find chilled towels in the fridge upon boarding, a memory stick with a video of your day out upon disembarking, and seamless car and limo transfers to and from your water vessel as well.
