Demand for Lady Gaga’s no-makeup Oscars look spikes by 233%, beauty expert shares how to recreate the glowing look

Lady Gaga’s no-makeup look at this year’s Oscars Academy Awards has caused quite a stir, as Justmylook has revealed that searches for no makeup have peaked at a 233% increase in the US following the star’s bare-faced Oscars performance. The look is already a trend on social media tying into the ‘clean girl aesthetic’, with the hashtag #nomakeupmakeup garnering over 786 million views on TikTok.

The Oscar Award winner paired her simple look with a stripped-back plain t-shirt, jeans and converse combo to perform a rendition of her hit song “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick.

Fans have been going wild for the back-to-basics look with one tweeting “Lady Gaga stripped down no makeup, no theatrics, just jeans and a t-shirt is an absolute vibe I cannot deny it.” With another adding, “Lady Gaga doing a completely raw, emotional performance of her song #HoldMyHand in jeans & t-shirt with no makeup is everything. She is so damn good. #Oscars.”

The beauty experts at Justmylook have shared their top tips for nailing the glowing no-makeup look:

“It’s all about the base when going for a no-makeup look, make sure your base is prepped for a glowing look. Starting with a serum such as hyaluronic acid before sealing it with a hydrating moisturiser can help to plump the skin and lock in moisture.

“If you’re not looking to go completely bare-faced, follow the moisturiser with an illuminating primer and a lightweight BB or CC cream to provide a layer of coverage while still allowing your complexion to shine through. Brush through brows and set with a clear gel for a natural look.

“Feel free to use a touch of concealer to cover any blemishes and finish with a dab of liquid blush to add a rosy flush to the cheeks.”
