14th October 2019
After two very successful Business of Conservation Conferences, we are happy to announce that the next Business of Conservation Conference will take place from September 1st to 3rd, 2020 at the Kigali Convention Center in Kigali, Rwanda. Register here to secure your slot! It will be more powerful and action-oriented than ever as we delve even deeper into newer dimensions of environmental investing aimed at catalyzing economic development in Africa.
At the end of this year's conference, we received nearly $11 million in commitments, facilitated investment opportunities for businesses featured in the Leopard's Cove, 11 different deal room meetings took place showcasing millions of potential deals with potential investors/projects and launched discussions that will continue throughout the year. You can see more figures from the conference in the summary report attached here. You can also remind yourself of the great memories we made here, and watch the livestream videos here.
We hope that the connections made will grow stronger and that discussions about making conservation a growth industry become bigger and bolder. If you'd like to share how you're implementing lessons from the conference or updates from connections made at BCC, please share via the conference website. We would be happy to hear about tangible outcomes from the conference.
As we draw curtains to a close on BCC 2019, remember the words of the CEO of Conservation International, M. Sanjayan at the conference "too often when we think about nature, we want to protect it but the real reason for them is because they create value. At the end of the day, the only way people will protect them (elephants, rhinos etc.) at scale is if they do so in their own enlightened self-interest"
I hope you’ll join us for BCC 2020 to enable a new future for conservation in Africa.
