Cruise Whitsundays has unveiled details of Australia’s first underwater accommodation. Located on the Great Barrier Reef, the underwater Reefsuites will boast floor to ceiling windows affording spectacular views of the marine life including tropical fish, turtles and manta rays.

Guests can choose between two underwater Reefsuite options: premium king or twin single both of which have glass walled en suites.

Priced from AUS$749 per person twin share, the full, once in a lifetime experience includes a return cruise to the reef, all meals and beverages, a selection of marine activities and overnight accommodation.

Visitors can register their interest at Cruise Whitsundays. It will be possible to make bookings at the end of August 2019 with the experience starting from November 2019.

Reefsuites are the centrepiece of an AUS$8 million redevelopment of the Reefworld pontoon situated at Hardy Reef, 39 nautical miles from Airlie Beach. When reopened, Reefworld will offer day visitors a range of reef activities including an underwater observatory, semi-submersible tours, scuba diving and snorkelling.

Two all-inclusive overnight options will be offered – the exclusive underwater Reefsuites and the renewed Reefsleep experience which will allow up to 28 guests to sleep under the stars on the pontoon’s top deck.
