149% Rise in Coffee Orders to your Door since Lockdown

 

Uber Eats reveals the lockdown coffee trends, with major coffee retailers joining the app since lockdown

 

Monday 8th June 2020 - Uber Eats has revealed a staggering 149% rise in coffee orders made via the app since the UK went into lockdown in March. 

 

With Brits unable to carry out their coffee run, Uber Eats has seen a massive thirst for coffee orders via the app.

 

Starbucks, available exclusively on the app since 2019 has recently been followed by Pret a Manger, Caffè Nero and Black Sheep, who have all joined Uber Eats since lockdown. Costa Coffee has also increased the number of stores available on the app. 

 

When it comes to lockdown coffee trends, Uber Eats data shows that the latte has taken the top spot of Brits’ favourite caffeine fix, followed by the refreshing iced latte to cool the lockdown heatwave and cappuccino coming in third. Other favourites include the mocha frappe latte, the Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato and Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino®.

 

Orders made via Uber Eats also show that for those tempted by a sweet treat to accompany their coffee, the pain au chocolat is the firm lockdown favourite, followed by the cinnamon swirl, millionaire's shortbread, almond croissant and butter croissant.

Starbucks and Caffè Nero are exclusive to the Uber Eats app, in addition to Pret a Manger, Costa Coffee, Black Sheep and Wenzels.
