PANGAIA LAUNCHES CAPSULE WITH COLOURS EXTRACTED FROM FOOD WASTE

pr of the day 06.10.2022
PANGAIA introduces the Food Dye capsule, featuring its iconic 365 sweatshirts and sweatpants innovatively dyed using food waste

The latest food dye capsule builds on the brands’ research to identify and develop color innovation and create dyes that are less water intensive and require no harmful chemicals.

The responsible food dye technology which comes from Toyoshima & Co., Ltd in Japan, utilises food waste disposed of by food companies, farms, and coffee houses to create a unique dye solution. The process involves extracting color from the food residue and applying it to the yarn itself.

PANGAIA looks to the ingredients, Matcha, Rooibos, and Blueberry to develop new dyes that offer a muted, neutral color palette. Each ingredient is used to create a special dyed yarn that is then spun into the classic PANGAIA styles - the result is an ultra premium material that is soft to touch while significantly minimizing the use of chemical agents and dyestuffs.

Launching 4th October on Pangaia.com
