press-release-of-day

6th April 2022

Checking in with a few cosmetic surgery trends happening in real-time per insights from top Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Darren Smith. He’s seeing an uptick on the below in his NYC office right now

  • More Men are Opting for Upper Eyelid Procedures: The amount of male patients visiting Dr. Smith’s office for blepharoplasty has DOUBLED in the past couple of months. Whether it’s the ‘pandemic procedure surge’ or that taboos around cosmetic procedures continue to wane, more men are looking to take years off their face and resolve their constant ‘tired’ or ‘angry’ appearance.
    • Dr. Smith can detail all about blepharoplasty, who can benefit from the procedure, what recovery looks like, and put you in touch with a patient willing to chat about their experience.
  • More Women are Booking Arm LipoSuns out, arms out! Dr. Smith - known as a lipo authority - is performing 4-5 arm lipo procedures a month right now. For this 45-minute procedure, he uses the tumescent technique, meaning a local anesthetic is used to numb the area, and you can remain awake during the procedure. This is a much easier option than general anesthesia with less recovery time. Dr. Smith will make several tiny incisions to your upper arms and use a long, thin instrument called a cannula to gently remove your unwanted fat. When necessary, this procedure can be combined with other technologies like BodyTite to simultaneously tighten your skin. The results? Less pain, bruising, and downtime while leaving you with sculpted, slim arms.
  • PAH Cases Skyrocket: When Linda Evangelista shed light on her Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH) case as a result of CoolSculpting, Dr. Smith has seen an in-office uptick (one a week) of patients from around the country (and beyond!) flying into his NYC practice in hopes of reversing their PAH, largely due to this instagram post explaining his thoughts on PAH and how to pinpoint ‘dodgy marketing practices’.
    • Over the last few months, Dr. Smith has made himself the unofficial go-to expert in reverisning PAH. This week alone, he’s spoken to patients with PAH in Canada, New Hampshire, and St. Louis. He also just treated a woman from Trinidad. He can break down what PAH is, what to look for if you’ve had CoolSculpting in the past, what the fix for PAH is - and more importantly, what to know before you book CoolSculpting.

ASSETS: Happy to share patient before/after images and connect you with Dr. Smith’s patients to chat through their experiences on the above.
